Bharuch District co-operative milk producers’ Union Ltd. Commonly known as “Dudhdhara Dairy” is the farmers’ organization engaged in the business of procuring milk from village level and processing and selling the quality milk products to consumers on co-operative basis.

Bharuch milk union is established on 18.12.1959, and completed 58th year in December 2017.

Milk procurement started during 1960, with organization of 15 rural co-operatives having 192 memberships.

During 1973, a pilot Dairy plant was established, having processing capacity of 25000 LPD.

During 1982, the dairy plant processing capacity was, expanded from 25000 LPD to 60000 LPD under operation flood program me, with technical help from N.D.D.B.

The technical input services viz., Animal treatment, Artificial Insemination program. , supply of fodder seeds, cattle feed and extension program. , were implemented under of program.

Since last 50 years The Bharuch Milk Union had an average milk procurement of 30000 LPD to 35000 LPD. Now it has been increased within 3 years of time to 300000 LPD, under the able leadership of Hon. Shri GHANSHYAMBHAI PATEL and experienced professional Shri P K PATEL.

Bharuch District is located in-between Surat and Baroda, which are big districts having big cities, where there is high potentiality of milk & milk product sales. Due to this our progress has been minimized. To counteract this situation we have decided to give more purchase price to milk producers’ and also to support required infrastructure to uplift rural co-ops.

Today Bharuch District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd., “Dudhdhara Dairy”, Bharuch is procuring milk from more than 600 villages of Bharuch & Narmada Districts. And also selling its quality milk & milk products to the people of Bharuch & Narmada District under the well known Brand named “AMUL” & “DUDHDHARA”.

During the current year 2019-2020, we will cross the peak milk procurement more than 3,00,000, in December 2020

At present we have 600 rural milk co-op. having more than affiliated 59,200 milk producer members.

We have installed Electronic milk fat testing machines to all 100 % milk co-operative societies. About 400 milk co-operative societies are having computerized milk collection system. During this year 100 % milk co-op. would be covered under this program.
